St. Mary's Home Health Receives Deficiency Free Status from MN Dept. of Health Attachment (PDF)

Detroit Lakes, MN, March 2010 — St. Mary's Home Health, serving both the Detroit Lakes and Ada area received a deficiency-free survey from the Minnesota Department of Health during a 3 day survey February 2-5. Home Health agencies are subject to unannounced visits from a survey team a minimum of every three years. A surveyor from the Minnesota Department of Health reviewed charts and made home visits to St. Mary's clients in both Detroit Lakes, MN and Ada, MN to assess compliance with state licensing regulations. The surveys assess and assure compliance with all regulations and to assure quality of care. Linda Hespe, manager of St. Mary’s Home Health compliments the staff and states, "Receiving another deficiency free survey is a testament to the high quality of care that our staff provides to our clients in the community."

In addition to the Department of Health survey, St. Mary's Home Health is accredited by Joint Commission Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

Since 1997, St. Mary’s Home Health has served the Detroit Lakes area as a Class A Medicare certified agency. A branch office was opened at Bridges Medical Center in Ada in 2003. St. Mary’s Innovis Health Home Health employs 9 registered nurses, 3 licensed practical nurses, and 8 home health aides. St. Mary’s Home Health also has 3 therapists on staff to offer physical therapy and occupational therapy, along with speech therapy and social work. St. Mary’s Home Health works closely to provide services to St. Mary’s Innovis Health, acute and clinic services, Oak Crossing, and senior living facilities in the community.
