Eco-friendly Tips
St. Mary's Innovis Health has a new logomark. It is the shape of a globe and the colors of earth, blue and green “Not only is our mission to deliver quality, compassionate health care, as a leading organization in our region we felt it was important to take a stand to be environmentally responsible. Our logo will be a constant reminder to take care of this planet that all of us call home,” says Abigail K. Ring, chief medical officer.
As part of that effort, we will be posting fast facts and helpful tips on how you can get involved in this "green" effort.
Just think...
If every household in the U.S.A. replaced just one six roll pack of regular paper towels with 100 percent recycled ones, we could save 5,700,000 trees.
Just think...
Plastic bottles take 700 years before they begin to decompose in a landfill. If everyone in NYC (or that many people) gave up water bottles for one week they would save 24 million bottles from being landfilled; one month would save 112 million bottles and one year would save 1.328 billion bottles from going into the landfill.
Now this is cool...
An Amazing, Infinitely Recyclable Material is aluminum beverage cans. They are 100 percent recyclable, can be recycled over and over again and go from recycling bin to the retail shelf in as few as 60 days. So next time you're grabbing a soda out of the fridge at a convenience store, think can instead of bottle.
