Services - Shared Care Psychiatry

Through a unique Shared Care Psychiatry partnership, mental health services are available to people in Detroit Lakes and the surrounding area. Shared Care enhances the ability of family physicians to treat the mental health needs of their patients, and reduces the amount of time patients wait to receive local psychiatric care.

Shared Care Psychiatry benefits patients through:

  • Improved coordination of care
  • Improved access to psychiatric care
  • Enhanced quality of mental health care
  • Early detection of problems and psychiatric care
  • Ongoing access to psychiatric care
  • Crisis intervention
  • Relapse prevention
  • Mental health education

The Shared Care Psychiatry Program is a partnership with St. Mary's Innovis Health, Becker County Human Services, Lakeland Mental Health Center, MeritCare clinics; and is funded in part through grants from the Dakota Medical Foundation and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota Foundation.
